Excellent service. Very clean.
I was told by a on site staffer that on my move in date I would have until 9:30 but everything became chaotic when I woman approached my husband and said we had 3 minutes to get our stuff in the elevator and back down and the truck out or we would be locked in. We had great difficulty understanding what she was saying so we were running around getting everything squared away. It was extremely stressful. Our items are safely put away but the timing issues were frustrating.
Everything was a breeze. Property Management contacted me within an hour of reserving to introduce herself and address any questions or concerns. More than what I expected out of a storage unit facility.
Good storage. Move-in went smooth. Contactless check-in available.
Formal Complaint – Pricing Practices and Transparency Concerns Re: Potential Violations of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act (Va. Code § 59.1-196 et seq.) To Whom It May Concern, On March 4, 2026, at approximately 4:00 PM, I spoke with the facility manager regarding a significant rent increase shortly after move-in. When I reserved my unit online, the website clearly stated that you could “lock in this rate” and that reserving allows you to secure today’s price even if rates go up later. I have screenshots reflecting that language. During our call, the manager stated that he does not see any such language online, which felt dismissive given that I have documentation showing otherwise. I have photos on a review and the man repeatedly asked me. Am I on public storage website as if I don’t have a brain I am submitting this complaint regarding pricing practices associated with my rental unit at Public Storage, which raise concerns under the Virginia Consumer Protection Act (“VCPA”), Va. Code § 59.1-196 et seq. While my contract states that rates may increase with 30 days’ notice, the issue is not simply that prices went up. The issue is the pattern. Public Storage continues to advertise units — including units identical to mine — at significantly lower rates on their website, while simultaneously raising my rent after just a few months. This creates what feels like a classic bait-and-switch structure. When I reserved my unit online, the website clearly stated that I could “lock in this rate even if prices go up later.” There was no visible disclosure indicating the rate was introductory, promotional, or subject to increase within a short timeframe. Based on that representation, I moved forward with the rental agreement. The only thing they will gaslight you with is you sign in agreement that it will go up but there’s nothing else that gives you proof of the going great in the area. If the lower pricing is truly an introductory rate, it should be clearly and transparently labeled as such. Instead, the advertised prices appear as standard rates, drawing customers in at one expectation and then escalating shortly after move-in. Even more concerning, these “lower” rates remain publicly advertised while existing tenants are charged substantially more for the same unit size and location. That is misleading and undermines consumer trust. Providing 30 days’ notice does not automatically make a pricing practice fair or ethical. Transparency matters. Consistency matters. Advertising one price while routinely charging another shortly thereafter is problematic. I would not mind paying the higher price if was advertised as such on the actual website. Public storage has units advertised for twice the size i have now for less. Consumers deserve clarity — not pricing strategies that feel engineered to secure commitment before increasing costs.
The overall experience is great. Customer service is excellent. Errol, the person at the front desk is always willing to help. Whether it’s to help you remember your gate access code or just having a welcoming conversation with you. I’d recommend this location to anyone. It’s safe, always clean and convenient. Thanx Public Storage Draper Drive.
Great experience at Public Storage. The facility is very clean and well organized, which made the whole process comfortable and easy. The staff at the front desk was professional, friendly, and very helpful. I had a small issue with the rate and the insurance, and the manager handled it quickly and professionally. I really appreciate the excellent customer service. Highly recommended.
Really nice unit and great competitive pricing (at first), but was "informed" that my rent was going up by 50% 3 months into my rental. This seems really bait and switch as management knows it will be a pain to move my belongings. This is not right.
My unit was clean and pest free when I first rented the space. Elevator always worked and there's always a cart to help move heavy items. Errol was very kind and helpful when I ran into an issue with my account. Give him a raise :)
