The storage facility I am currently renting is clean, accessible, and available to provide evening access. The property manager is available to answer questions and offer assistance to the consumer, whereby the consumer will ultimately decide on the unit to rent.
Signing up and accessing the storage unit was very easy. Linda was extremely helpful.
I rented for over a year. I was told the $15/month insurance was required. I could use my own lock though. Rates went from $155 to $180 to $229 in one year. Ridiculous!!!! I found another unit, larger and in the same location, thanks to Tina, for $180. I also understand the insurance was not required, as I have my own. Tina is the only reason I stayed at PS!
Booked a storage unit online and no longer needed it. Tried calling and they didn't answer, called again left a message. Thieves kept my money and had to file a charge back. I do not recommend this as they have zero integrity. I never moved in or even went to the place and there was zero obligation to rent unit. ZERO INTEGRITY
Needed a storage place that does not charge mortgage rates, and I'm glad I found this place. It's conveniently located and the customer service was top-notch! Tina was amazing, an exemplary professional! She provided all the information we needed, allayed all concerns, and had us setup in record time. Thank you!
For starters, unless you are calling to get prices or to rent a storage space, good luck getting anyone on the phone. For another thing, if you're not moving out on the 30th of the month prior, you're going to be charged full price for an entire price. They don't pro-rate, they are month to month. Meaning, rather you move out on the first day or the last day of the month, you're going to be charged for an entire month. And again, no matter what you need or what concerns you have, no matter how much you call or how many voice mails you leave, unless you are calling in regards to getting a new space you will NEVER get anyone on the phone for anything. I wanted to like this place, I really did but their policies and customer service as a whole is garbage. Good luck to all who enter.
Melinda helped me at the Hampton, VA location and she was excellent! Very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I came in near closing time and there were no units available in the size I needed at her location. She set me up with a unit in Chesapeake and gave me all the info I needed. I drove there and had my belongings stored in the unit in no time. Great customer service and job well done, Melinda!
I have had several experiences as a customer at Public Storage, and I've noticed significant variations in the level of assistance and customer service I've received over time. Initially, I prefer to hold off on sharing my thoughts about business interactions because, much like the days on a calendar, individuals can evolve and change and need to improve. However, I now see the importance of revisiting and updating my early review to reflect my current perspective.
