She knows her stuff about storage space verses storage items and is always willing to discuss it with you to make sure you get the “right fit” for your needs. I recently used Extra Space Storage in Syracuse, and my experience was a mix of top-tier service and the sobering reality of today’s real estate climate. The Good: Facilities & Service First and foremost, the facilities are excellent. The site was incredibly clean, well-lit, and felt very secure, which provided great peace of mind. The customer service was the standout for me. The staff was professional, helpful, and went out of their way to make the move-in process seamless. It’s clear they take pride in how they manage the property. The Reality: Increasing Rates The only significant drawback has been the price increases. While I understand that the current real estate market and rising property values are driving up rates across the board, the jumps can be quite steep. If you are planning for long-term storage, definitely factor in that your initial "teaser" or promotional rate will likely increase as market conditions shift. Bottom Line: If you prioritize a clean, safe, and professionally managed environment, Extra Space Storage is a fantastic choice. Just be prepared for the pricing to fluctuate in line with the broader market.

In an emergency move, we found safe reliable, and affordable storage at Extra Space Storage in Syracuse. Our unit was temperature controlled and worked great to keep my vinyl records safe. Rented a unit for 3 years while we lived out of state. Came back and the entire unit was covered in mice pee and poop. It was a known problem according to an employee. I asked for a letter to provide to my insurance (we have coverage through our renters insurance) and the manager refused. Don rent a unit here unless you want your stuff ruined. Edit: To top it off, I just looked they’re increasing my monthly rate again! Seems like every few months they jack the rate up Edit 2: It gets even better. I called the number in the Google review reply and the store manager brushed me off and told me to call their corporate “representatives.” What a joke of customer service!
