I had a great experience with this storage facility. Andy was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. He took the time to walk me through the facility, showed me the entrances and exits, explained everything clearly, and even recommended the best place to park for easy access to my unit. The facility is clean, well organized, and easy to navigate. Andy’s professionalism and friendly attitude made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend this storage facility to anyone looking for storage in the area. If I ever need storage again in the future, I would definitely come back here. When my daughter graduated in May from her College, we had to scramble to find a storage unit that was within reasonable distance, safe area, and affordable. I was glad U-Haul was sold out of the unit size we needed and I was fortunate to find and secure a unit at Extra Space Storage. Upon entering, Mr. Muhammad was pleasant and welcoming. He explained what I needed to know about the storage unit, showed me where it was located, and how to connect my phone so I can open the door. The storage unit was a great deal! We were pressed for time but with Mr. Muhammad’s assistance, we were able to get things done and catch our flight. Highly recommended for your storing needs!
I utilized Extra Space in another state and had a wonderful experience so when I moved here I thought I would use the same company. Unfortunately this has been a horrible experience since day 1. This is absolutely the worst storage facility. The online rate is I’ll almost immediately be doubled and the facility itself is dirty and the exterior door is routinely broken with bolts hanging off. When I reported it I was told they already knew and that it’s just old. There are times the door just won’t open at all, or won’t close and lock. It’s so bad. I made the decision to move out and had to extend my move out date. I paid the prorated rate that was agreed to, but apparently the representative who took the payment over the phone never applied it to the account. It locked me out of being able to access the electronic door, and they also locked my storage unit. When I called the customer service number I was told they could see where both the phone call and the payment were made, but that it was not applied to the account and only the store manager or district manager can correct it and allow me back in to my unit. But no one can reach either the store manager or district manager. The customer service call center is completely unwilling to help and I’m being told I have to wait 24-48 hours for any assistance, despite needing to move out within that time frame. Now I am being forced to pay a full additional month’s rent, plus late fees, if I want access to my belongings. Do not use this facility.
I moved in on September 3 on a month to month contract. I stored some items that did not fit in my apartment. The place seemed fine. It is not climate controlled, which was disclosed to me, but they said it had heating and a dehumidifier. On December 1, I received a message that they are doubling my rent in 30 days, which is clear bate and switch, and shady business practices. They know it’s challenging and expensive to move so they attract you with a lower rate and take advantage of you once you are moved in. They also require a 30-day move out notice so I have to tell them now that I’m moving out without having a moving company lined up if I want to avoid the rent hike. I now have to coordinate a move during the holidays. I strongly recommend avoiding this place.
The customer service was excellent, very hands-on, and patient. The representative was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and maintained a positive attitude. They were very attentive.
