Nice storage and smooth transaction
Great experrience . This review requires too much talk.
Very pleased with my experience. This was the easiest part of my move. Staff was friendly and professional and helped me get the additional items I'd forgotten right there at the store.
Great staff and clean units. Everything was no hassle
BEWARE: Being a month-to-month rental facility, they can increase your prices at any time. I assumed (bad assumption) that my price quoted would last a year, as I’ve had with other facilities. Nope, after 3 months of moving out stuff in, they jacked the prices significantly. I contacted them to question this… and didn’t get a response. While the facility and access are fine, I’d look elsewhere for predictable and reasonable pricing. *** Responding to the owner's response to my original review, for the clarification of the readers of this review. *** I signed up for $159.00 in October of '24. I was billed that amount in October, November, and December. In January, I was billed $193.38, an increase of 21.6%. While the owner's response to the review calls this a "rent increase", it seems more like a bait-and-switch tactic, due to the magnitude of the change and how soon it occurred after moving my stuff into storage. I understand and wouldn't have an issue with an annual rent increase (meaning around 12 months after signing up) that reflects anything reasonably associated with actual inflation values (which is typical in my past storage rentals from other companies). There was nothing related to CPI or inflation indexes that was even close to a 21.6% increase. While I appreciate the quick response to my review and the suggestion to contact StorageMart via email, I did just that at the time, on 1/18/25 and then again on 1/23/25 as a follow-up, and didn't even get the courtesy of a response... just a bill for $193.38 the next month. Just FYI, StorageMart solicited my feedback on Google via a text recently, hence the recent review. I feel it's essential that prospective renters understand how quickly price adjustments may occur and how large the rent prices may change after you have moved your belongings into their storage facility. Again, the local facility and staff are fine, but their aggressive pricing strategy and the associated lack of communication were extremely poor in my experience.
They great ppl work with had no problems property manger was great then unit was clean kept up with and security was good i would use them again
It’s nice and I like having an indoor storage unit, but in under 2 years the cost has gone up at least $50 a month, so that’s annoying. I saw someone else mention this, so now I know it isn’t me, it’s all of us. Now we have to have our adult kids rush to get their things moved out of our house so we can empty the storage unit because it’s ridiculous rates keep going up. It would also be nice to have access to a dumpster. You’re a locked facility, it’s not like anyone else would be able to access it. For the amount we all pay, there is no reason the dumpster is locked up. The guy that works there currently is super nice though. Their hours seem to be super random. A lot of times I can’t get an answer when I call. They changed how you open the gate, but since I’m not there frequently, I forgot how, and the instructions aren’t clear and aren’t on the website or in any of my emails. Honestly, if we weren’t dealing with injuries, it would be getting cleaned out now, but since I can’t lift anything over 5-10 pounds right now, we will keep spending a ridiculous amount of money.
My wife and I have been very impressed with Storage Mart in Ankeny and its manager Brad Turvey. Brad is great to work with and keeps the place in tip top shape. The prices are lower than I expected too. Early on, Brad told me he takes pride in the place and it really shows.
Debbie was very helpful and she answered all of my questions. Refunded my lock and removed value coverage because I have my own insurance. Thank you Debbie!!
